Laptop Hinges Broken? Do Not Use Super Glue!

Hardware
We see this every day: a customer walks in with a laptop that has glue all over the bezel and hinge area. "I tried to stick it," they say.
Why Glue is a Bad Idea
Laptop hinges bear a lot of tension. Super glue (Cyanoacrylate) is brittle. It cannot withstand the opening/closing force. Worse, liquid glue often seeps into the screen or motherboard, causing permanent damage.
The Correct Fix: Fabrication
Professional fabrication involves:
- Opening the laptop completely.
- Rebuilding the screw mounts using industrial epoxy or plastic welding.
- Loosening the tight hinges that caused the break in the first place.
